Recurra — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how HyperZeta ("we", "us") handles your information in the Recurra Android app (package com.hyperzeta.recurra, "the app"). The app detects recurring subscriptions and charges from payment notifications on your device. The app is intended for users aged 18 and older.

Summary

Data we collect and why

DataPurposeService
Advertising ID and related ad-interaction / approximate (IP-derived) location data (free tier only). Serve ads, plus advertising analytics and fraud prevention. Removed when you buy Pro. Google AdMob
Purchase status of the one-time "Pro" in-app product. Unlock and restore the features you bought. Google Play Billing
Payment-notification content from supported UPI / bank apps, detected subscriptions, charge history, manually added subscriptions, and your settings (including the Pro flag). Detect recurring charges and show your dashboard, alerts, and history. Never transmitted. On-device (Android Room & DataStore)

Recurra holds no copy of your subscription data — it never leaves your device, and we cannot see it. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any account identifier.

Exporting your data

Recurra lets you export your subscriptions to a CSV file. The file is created on your device and goes only where you choose to send or save it (for example via the Android share sheet). It is never uploaded to us or any server.

Notification access

Recurra requests the Notification Access permission to read payment notifications and detect charges. This is used only for on-device detection; notification content is never logged off-device, sent to us, or shared. You can turn it off anytime in Android Settings → Notifications → Device & app notifications.

Permissions

The app uses INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE for ads (free tier) and in-app purchases; the Notification Access permission to read payment notifications for on-device detection; POST_NOTIFICATIONS for renewal reminders; RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED to re-arm reminder alarms after a restart; and the advertising ID permission (AD_ID) to serve ads on the free tier. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Third-party services

We use Google services to operate the app: Google AdMob (ads on the free tier) and Google Play Billing (the optional one-time Pro purchase). The handling of data by these services is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. See also Google's AdMob data disclosure.

Data sharing

We do not sell your data. Your subscription data is never shared with anyone. The advertising ID and related ad data are shared with Google AdMob solely to serve ads on the free tier. Data transmitted by AdMob and Google Play Billing is encrypted in transit.

Data retention and deletion

Because your subscription data is stored only on your device, you control it completely: delete individual items in the app, or uninstall Recurra to remove all app data. Reset your advertising ID in Android settings to disassociate ad data held by Google. Since we hold no copy of your data on a server, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. For any data request, contact us at the email below.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete data relating to you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We do not sell personal information. Your subscription data is on-device and not held by us; for advertising data, use the Android advertising-ID controls above or contact us at the email below.

Children

The app is a personal-finance tool intended for users aged 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version.
